Most reputable solar companies do not advertise their solar prices upfront, and normally you will have to deal with a salesperson, just to get an indication.

This is due to many reasons including the difficulty of the job, talented sales people spotting a higher commission (yuck), and also because these companies want to sell themselves and their company to you, and not just be another price.

Solar companies with upfront prices that are too good to be true, generally are. They are playing the game of being the cheapest quote and winning customers that way. A 6.6kW solar system with tier 1 materials, should cost no less than $5,000 out of pocket. Anything under this, it is likely there are cheaper materials being used, underpaid workers, and or suppliers, and taxes, not being paid.

Many companies who offer very cheap systems, will either disappear or go bust after a few years. This leaves your cheap solar system unwarranted and likely to be faulty within a few years. Solar is a long term investment, so it's best to do it properly the first time. If you pay less now, you will pay more later.
