Top 10 Solar Companies in Brisbane
From personal experience, industry knowledge and plenty of research - here is who we have found to be the top 10 best solar installers in Brisbane.

1. Optimum Solar Energy
From humble beginnings as hands on sole-trader, Ryan Orr founded Optimum Solar Energy back in 2014 and has achieved grand success since then.
Why we like them
It's always a massive plus in our books when the boss of the company, is also a hard working installer. Ryan has given amazing customer service (like many owner/operators) his whole career, which has given him plenty of positive word of mouth to help grow his business to where it is today.
Ryan's achievement is a great success story, and this is backed up with nothing but 5 star Google reviews - from over 100 happy customers.
What are their installs like?
The team at Optimum Solar Energy definitely put some time and pride into their installs. From internal cabling or cable tray to hide all conduits, textbook straight panels and cut off rails, and the use of premium products such as Fronius, Victron and the worlds favourite - Sungrow.
They are also specialists in Off-Grid solar, and have a wealth of beautiful installs on blackboard with covered tray. Check out their website or socials which backs this up.

2. Sunlogics Solar & Electrical
Sunlogic Solar & Electrical is a family owned and operated business that have been installing solar for over 15 years.
Why we like them
Shunk and Akshay Bhalla have dedicated their lives to providing exceptional solar work in the Brisbane area, with Shunk heading up the installations, and Akshay the sales. The team do not sub-contract any of their work, and is made up of their own in-house SAA installers and qualified sparkies.
Boasting a perfect 5 star Google Review record from over 150 legitimate customers, means they are definitely doing something right.
What are their installs like?
Sunlgoics have a pretty aesthically pleasing Instagram for solar nerds, with some very symmetrical battery systems, and internal cabling on high quality products such as Tesla and Fronius. Someone in the team is obviously pretty handy with a Drone, and you can really see some of the precisely straight panel set ups they have done.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google (5/5 average)

3. MC Electrical
MC Electrical is a big operation that has over 30 in-house staff, and is founded by the owner and manager, Mark.
Why we like them
Like us, Mark is a verified solar nerd, who takes this a few steps further and is an avid blogger, YouTuber and has a Podcast - all on solar. That is serious passion. The team focus on giving an ethical and professional service, only installing what would best suit the client, and not just copy and paste each install.
With over 300 Google Reviews, MC Electrical has achieved a 4.9 star rating. While there is a couple of legitimate concerns where things have gone wrong, most of the low reviews are unhinged - especially someone complaining that they cancelled a solar quote because they don't install on Terracotta. Terracotta sucks, and I'd wear a 1 star review rather than install on it.
What are their installs like?
MC Electrical has some nice installs like all companies on this list, but what puts them above and beyond is they use Radiant racking. The rail that the panels sit on is often put down to what is most cost-effective. Radiant is a dream for installers to use, but has traditionally had twice the warranty as regular rail. Which is what you want for something holding down half a tonne of panels on your roof for 25 years.

4. AHLEC Solar
Located in Diddillibah, AHLEC is family owned and operated company that has been servicing South-East Queensland in electrical and solar for over 35 years.
Why we like them
AHLEC don't do sales people. Only solar experts. Which are often the best sales people because not only do they know the technical ins and outs of each aspect of solar, but they will never try and promise something that is just not possible. AHLEC only offer the best and most realistic solutions.
This is always the best advice for consumers, because it avoids headaches and heartaches down the line. If a salesperson tells you something is true, and an installer says otherwise - always trust the latter.
What are their installs like?
AHLEC use a mix of high-end products such as Fronius and Sungrow - which is the perfect combo of premium and premium-mid. They also obviously take a lot of pride in their work, as not only do they have straight rows of panels, but they chop off the daggy bits of rail at the end of an array, and then put on caps. It's little things like this, that make you trust their installers take care in what they are doing.

5. Green Solar Brisbane
Green Solar is a family owned and operated company that has a very simple motto - "Only the highest quality for the best possible price".
Why we like them
Their motto are words to live by, and Green Solar continually back up this claim and only use high quality products. As any decent solar company will tell you, cheap products are not worth installing, and are reserved for the dodgy retailers who will disappear in 3 years time.
The team at Green Solar has amassed one 4 star Google Review and the rest 5 star (from over 160) since they have been in business. Unfortunately for Green Solar, they went with a pretty generic solar company name, and have copped a few 1 star reviews from people complaining about telemarketing - which is from a different company.
What are their installs like?
As mentioned, Green Solar uses very good products in Fronius, Tesla and Sungrow. They hide all their cabling internal where they can, but opt to use elbows on conduit instead of corrugated conduit when it is exposed. This takes more time for the installer and makes it look very straight and professionally done, instead of an octopus on your wall.

6. Queensland Solar & Lighting
Queensland Solar and Lighting is a small and tight knit team that have been keeping Brisbane solar enthusiasts happy since 2012.
Why we like them
The team at QSL look after their workers by paying them properly. This ensures their installers are happy to work for them, and will do a top notch job. Most retailers pay peanuts and get, well monkeys. The fact that they also focus on lighting keeps their team from burning out, as it is very physically demanding installing panels all day.
We also are very impressed with the fact that Ben, their salesperson, also gets on the roof and helps out during peak periods. It is refreshing when salespeople have understood the challenges of solar, know what a roof looks like, and therefore won't promise you the world.
What are their installs like?
Claiming to be the OG for 6.6kW installs in Brisbane (huge call), but shows that QSL do go the extra mile to ensure you are getting bang for your buck, as this is a great example of finding a better solution than their competitors.
Their installs are also very neatly designed, with straight conduit and internal cabling. They also offer wallet-friendly options such as GoodWe, mid-range in Sungrow, and premium like Tesla.

7. Halcol Energy
Another family owned and operated company, Halcol is headed up by husband and wife duo, Gary and Rosie Higgins.
Why we like them
Halcol has installed a whopping 10,000 systems since inception - which they've estimated in over $100 million worth of savings for South-East Queenslanders. They are the largest solar company in Brisbane and the Sunny Coast, and have managed to keep a rating of 4.9 Google Reviews, with the low rated reviews being completely unhinged.
Halcol has also gained national recognition multiple times, being a finalist in the Smart Installer of the Year (Smart Energy Excellence Awards) in 2025, and a Top 10 Solar Installer for the 2024 Sunwiz award (Residential Queensland).
What are their installs like?
Halcol are happy to take on any difficulty of job, and do it properly. While most installers generally use 2 or 3 different types of products out of satisfaction and familiarity - the sheer number of installs that Halcol do, they have experts in all the top solar products including SolarEdge, Sungrow, Sigenergy, Fronius, SMA, Tesla and so on.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google (4.9/5 average)

8. Home & Energy
Home and Energy has been helping Queenslanders shorten their power bills since 2011, and with a recent restructure to focus more on batteries, their tagline is now "Your Solar and Battery Specialist".
Why we like them
Adam Derrick is at the helm of Home and Energy, and he leads from the front by helping installs and assessing each job. Adam knows that solar is a big investment for home owners and businesses, and enjoys knowing his clients trust the team at Home and Energy with their investment - and prioritises each client has a positive experience, and investment.
What are their installs like?
Home and Energy have solid installs and use top range products, including top of the range European inverters (Fronius and SMA), or Microinverters, and also use the highest quality racking system in Radiant. The team is installing these premium products as they should be, using all internal cabling coming into the inverters and artistically straight arrays.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google (5/5 average)

9. Symons Energy
Symons Energy has been installing solar around Brisbane and Sunshine Coast since 2010, with all-round top bloke Kosta at the helm.
Why we like them
Kosta is a part of every installation from start to finish, and his number one priority is customer satisfaction. Symons Energy has over 130, 5 star reviews - with many of them directly thanking Kosta themselves. The only one non 5 star review is a 4 (which is basically a 5 for someone fastidious), who apparently isn't even a customer. Take the W Kosta, 4 stars are more trusting.
What are their installs like?
Specialising in batteries, Symons Energy offer a wealth of options that are all solid and wallet-friendly brands including Sonnen, Soltaro, Sungrow and Sigenergy. They keep their cabling internal mostly, but keep it inconspicuous when it needs to be exposed. They also go out of their way to use black racking on darker roofs, to keep up with the aesthetic.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google (5/5 average)

10. Think Renewable
Think Renewable is run by three long time mates Daniel, David and Rory - and is one of the most efficient solar companies in the country.
Why we like them
Think Renewable offer a 10 year workmanship warranty on all their installations, instead of the standard 5. Seeing how the company has been around for 15 years, and is now spanning across 3 states - it is a pretty safe bet they will be around for a while.
Plus, their 4.9 average Google Reviews shows nearly all happy customers, with a couple of petty 1 stars for "not showing them which retailer to go with afterwards", and a good old complaint of them choosing not to install solar at someone's house.
What are their installs like?
As expected from a large national company, Think Renewable offer a large selection of inverters, batteries and panel brands - all of which are tier 1. The installs themselves are quite neat, with the use of ducting between batteries and inverters to make it seem a bit more compact.

About the Best Solar Companies in Brisbane
As you probably have figured out, there are quite a few similarities between the best solar companies above. Some of this includes that they:
-
Employ in-house electricians
-
Provide after sales care
-
Employ in-house sales staff
-
Do not use bad, or even average, products
-
Take pride in their work
These 5 points are incredibly important when it comes to choosing a solar installer. If the company has all the electricians and sales staff under the one roof, it is in everyone's interest to keep the customer happy, and less chance of a "lack of communication" error.
They also use quality products and make sure they are not only installed properly, but aesthetically pleasing as they want the system to last for as long as possible, and for it to look nice, - as they are in it for the long run, not just a quick buck.
The better products they use, the better skilled staff that take more time on each project, and allowing for any warranty issues - generally means the better solar companies do cost more than the ones to avoid. However, they will last a lot longer and it's better to pay slightly more now, or you'll be paying a lot more later.

Solar Companies to Avoid
While some people can have a good experience with these companies, there are 1000s of cases of displeased customers since the solar boom which relates to issues including, system never working, dodgy installations causing fires, pushy sales people, ugly and non compliant installations, property damage, and changing products at the last minute.
Unfortunately, this happens because some solar companies offer very low installation costs, which is attractive to consumers. They can achieve this by compromising cost by using low quality panels and inverters, have razor thin margins, and pay their installers minimal. They are usually just a sales company that hires sub-contracting electricians to do their work. While some of these sparkies will do a good job - they are getting paid very minimal, so most will only do the bare minimal. It is the sales company who the customer has a deal with, so the electrician will not be worried about a negative image if they do an average job.
Below are the some of the solar companies that you should definitely avoid.
Arise Solar
Arise Solar are a solar company that install a lot of solar systems, but have just as many complaints. People have reported that they use pushy salespeople from overseas call centres to cold-call, and they do not have any in-house electricians, but sub all of their work out.
They are normally one of the cheapest, as they cut costs by using cheap labour and inferior products. Many people have reported them quoting good products, but swapping them at the last minute - claiming they are even better, but for the same price. These products either don't work from the start, or don't last very long. We recommend avoiding Arise Solar.
Sunboost
Sunboost is another company that has given many good installers work - as many good installers have had to come out and fix up some of Sunboost's dodgy installs. Sunboost sells systems and relies only on sub-contractors (and cheap ones) to install the job.
From many accounts, there is often no or little communication for install dates, and when (not if) there is an issue with the installation, they don't want to know about it as it is the "installers responsibility" - who by then, are dust in the wind.
Even though some subcontracting installers are good, many (especially the ones that work for very little) use cheap and unqualified labour, often with one electrician monitoring two jobs at different sites a day, and signing off on both. Obviously, this dodgy workmanship comes back to bite the customer with the system not working properly (or at all).
Allan Border doesn't know anything about solar, so who cares if he recommends them. We do know a lot about solar, and we recommend avoiding Sunboost.
Conclusion
So there you have it, the best solar installers in Brisbane, and some to avoid. Bare in mind, this is done from our years of experience and knowledge in the solar industry.
The best solar installers at the top of this list, are most likely going to be more expensive than the ones at the bottom that we recommend avoiding. It is completely up to you for who you want to choose to install solar for you, but you are now armed with the information to tell the good from the bad. And as they say, if you pay peanuts, you will get monkeys.
